Physics--think and explains--reflection @@@? - index.of photo pregnant

The photo shows two identical Cola bottles, each with the same amount of glue. The bottle is the bottle in the air right and left with a plastic liner that is strong, almost the same "refractive index" as (the speed of glass, the light in the plastic and glass are the same). Bottle shows an illusion of the amount of adhesive? How does a bottle to give a clearer picture of the content?

The bottle of solvent to give the best estimate, ie without plastic.

Except vertically between the radius of the light in the glass / plastic coca. The ray of light bends when it is in the air, leaving the glass / plastic. The more you buy at a distance in the air / plastic, the greater the farther they are in a straight line measurement.
